Before taking drastic actions towards a stain, try simple remedies. You may try an enzyme detergent but always rub towards the center of the stain. Here are stain removal tips that can used at home: Animal stain: To remove stains such as blood, perspiration, soak in cold water. Wash, put into lukewarm water and boil. Then, bleach in the sun. Vegetable stains: To remove stains such as tea, coffee, fruit which is still wet, put the stained part of the article over a basin or soup plate and pour boiling water. Try rubbing borax on the stain if necessary. For a firmly fixed stain, use a little chloride of lime, being careful not to burn the material. Dissolve 30g chloride of lime in 300 ml. cold water. Mineral stains: Stains such as ink, iron and rust can be removed by using sour milk, juice of a lemon, a green tomato or vinegar.
